New Sprite Buttons

When you first start Scratch or begin a new Scratch project, you always start out with the basic Cat sprite on the stage. Scratch projects would get very boring if this is all you could work with, so there are 3 tool buttons that you should look at for creating new sprites. All of these buttons are found right below the stage. The buttons are:
Painting A New Sprite

To draw your own sprite click on the Paint New Sprite button. When you click on this button you will be greeted with the paint editor.
Importing Sprite

Clicking on this button will allow you to import a sprite into your application. Scratch comes with many installed costumes. These costumes can be be used as new sprites. When you click on the "Choose New Sprite From File" button you are shown the 6 categories of costumes: Animals, Fantasy, People, Things, and Transportation. Navigate through the folders to find your desired costume.
Please note that some of the costume also come with come pre-made scripts. These costumes will have a orange box below them that say script. You can use these costumes to help you learn some new techniques. You can also import your own images using this button. Just navigate to where the image is located on your computer. Scratch accepts the standard file types: JPG, PNG, GIF. Random Sprite

Clicking on this button will have scratch randomly select a sprite from those installed and place it on the stage. This is one way to have fun with the program! You never now which sprite your going to get. This is also a great way to get inspired.
